Christmas lights – there are various light displays throughout Joburg that will leave you speechless and in the spirit of Christmas. Emperor’s Palace from 25 November – 2 January from 18:00-22:00 daily. Melrose Arch from 24 November – 8 January Daily. Johannesburg Zoo from 25 November – 1 January (except Mondays) from 19:00 – 22:00, tickets cost R150pp children under 3 are free.
Christmas markets – if you are looking for locally made gift ideas, then Christmas markets are the best place to be. The Sunset Bistro in Muldersdrift is hosting a market on the 11th of December which promises to be a day of fun for the whole family. Get into the festive spirit and support local entrepreneurs and small business owners at Greenstone Shopping Centre, from 16-23 December 9am-5pm daily.
Carols – Real Life Church Krugersdorp is going to get our Christmas spirits high with not only carols but a market as well, 14-16 December from 6pm-10pm kids 12 and older R20.
Celebrations – if you are looking for a fun day out, the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens are hosting a Garden of Eden – Summer Edition on the 16th of December from 10am-6pm. Ticket prices start at R250. With a variety of musicians, you will enjoy the day out in the sun.
